Ken Josephson was celebrated as the 2012 Staff Sustainability Champion at the opening reception of the Connect U all-staff conference. While UVic is home to countless people who
help make our campus more sustainable, a few stand out in the way they make a difference and inspire others. Josephson is one of those people, and the second UVic employee to receive this
peer-nominated annual award.
Dr. John Celona (music) received a Diamond Award in the screenwriting category at the 2012 California Film Awards, for his screenplay for an聽unproduced聽science-fiction
black-comedy thriller called Lady Smoke. Celona had picked up聽honorable mention at the same awards聽two years ago for his neo-noir thriller Nightfreight.
