Chaw-win-is is the recently appointed Indigenous Resurgence Coordinator within the Faculty of Education. 鈥淭his position and others initiatives like it across Canada,鈥 says Chaw-win-is, 鈥渁re a result of the on-going efforts of Indigenous peoples and non-Indigenous allies all across Canada who have been generating awareness about colonization within the education system.鈥

But Rande Cook has one unique aspect not shared by his forerunners: he is the first Audain professor to represent a Vancouver Island nation.
